Ambulance accessories include mobile data terminals, sophisticated communication links, patient data transfer systems, and additional harnesses to restrain the paramedics while they are working on patients, as well as additional lighting for the interior and exterior of the vehicles. Other considerations are vehicles which lower a loading compartment to assist in patient loading and unloading. Upgraded gurneys, removable benches for multiple patients, and customized seats for paramedics may be among the accessories found on ambulances. Some ambulances carry a wide array of firefighting equipment such as extinguishers, bunker gear, and extrication equipment.
